Why Every Believer Must Tell Someone About Jesus
Why Every Believer Must Tell Someone About Jesus
The Gospel is not a message we were meant to keep to ourselves.
When we encounter Jesus Christ, we receive more than a personal blessing. We receive a responsibility to make Him known to others. Jesus gave His followers a clear assignment to go and make disciples of all nations.
Every believer has a story to tell. Every believer can become a witness. Every believer can tell someone about Jesus.
Jesus Has Called Every Believer to Be a Witness
The call to share the Gospel is not limited to pastors, evangelists or missionaries.
Jesus commissioned His disciples to take the Gospel to the nations. The Great Commission calls believers to make disciples, baptize them and teach them to follow Christ.
This means that wherever God has placed you, you have an opportunity to make Jesus known.
Your family can be your mission field.
Your workplace can be your mission field.
Your neighborhood can be your mission field.
Your community can be your mission field.
The people you meet every day may be waiting for someone to tell them about the hope found in Jesus Christ.
You Do Not Need a Platform to Witness
Many believers think they need a large audience before they can evangelize.
You do not need a stage.
You do not need thousands of followers.
You do not need to be a famous preacher.
You can begin with one person.
Jesus said to go and make disciples.
Sometimes evangelism begins with a simple conversation.
Tell someone what Jesus has done in your life.
Share the Gospel with someone who is searching.
Invite someone to church.
Pray with someone who needs encouragement.
Give someone an opportunity to hear about Christ.
One person matters.
Your Testimony Can Point Someone to Jesus
You may think your testimony is not important because it is not dramatic.
But what God has done in your life can encourage someone else.
You can tell people how you came to know Jesus.
You can tell them how Christ changed your direction.
You can tell them about God's faithfulness.
You can explain why you believe in Jesus.
Your testimony does not have to impress people. It needs to point them to Christ.
The goal of witnessing is not to make ourselves famous. The goal is to make Jesus known.
People Need to Hear the Gospel
We live in a generation with more access to information than ever before, yet many people are still searching for truth, hope and purpose.
The Church cannot assume that everyone has heard and understood the Gospel.
Jesus commanded His followers to take the message beyond themselves and make disciples among all nations.
That command remains relevant today.
People around us need to hear that Jesus Christ saves.
They need to hear that forgiveness is available.
They need to hear that God loves them.
They need to hear that they can have a new life in Christ.
They need to hear the Gospel.
Do Not Be Ashamed of Jesus
One reason some believers remain silent is fear.
We may fear rejection.
We may worry about what people will think.
We may feel that we do not know enough.
But we must not allow fear to keep us from sharing the hope we have received.
Evangelism requires courage, but it also requires humility and love.
We are not called to force people.
We are called to faithfully present the Gospel and point people to Jesus.
Start With One Person
You do not have to reach the whole world today.
Start with one person.
Ask God to show you who you can encourage.
Ask Him for opportunities to speak about Jesus.
Be ready when the opportunity comes.
A simple conversation can open a door for the Gospel.
A testimony can encourage someone.
An invitation can lead someone to hear the Word of God.
A faithful witness can become part of someone's journey toward Christ.
The Great Commission begins with obedience. Jesus said to go and make disciples.
The Church Must Become a Witnessing Church
We need churches that do more than gather.
We need believers who go.
We need believers who pray for the lost.
We need believers who share the Gospel.
We need believers who disciple new Christians.
We need believers who understand that the mission of Jesus belongs to the whole Church.
The world needs faithful witnesses.
Your generation needs believers who are willing to stand for Christ with love, courage and humility.
Tell Someone About Jesus Today
Do not wait for the perfect opportunity.
Look around you.
There is someone you can encourage.
There is someone you can invite.
There is someone you can pray for.
There is someone who needs to hear about Jesus.
The question is not whether you can reach everyone.
The question is whether you will reach the person God places before you.
Jesus has given His followers the Great Commission.
So go.
Tell someone about Jesus.
Share the Gospel.
Make disciples.
Let your life become a witness for Christ.
